LAHORE: At least three people were killed and 23 others were injured in a blast in Lahore's Anarkali Bazaar district on Thursday, according to police and health officials.
The explosion happened about 1:45 p.m., according to the deputy commissioner of Lahore. He stated that the area is part of the Safe City project and that all surveillance system evidence is being evaluated.
Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, DIG Operations Lahore, told the media that the inquiry is still in the early stages and that the nature of the blast is being determined.
At least three persons have perished as a result of the explosion, according to Lahore Commissioner retired Capt Muhammad Usman Younis.
Although police believe it was a placed device, it is unclear if it was an improvised explosive device (IED) or a timed device. Evidence is being collected from the scene by forensic teams.
Mayo Hospital's Medical Superintendent reported that the facility received two bodies, 23 injured persons, and four people in serious condition who were sent to the operating room.
The boom smashed windows in surrounding buildings, as well as caused damage to many motorcycles parked near the incident site.

He asked law enforcement to apprehend the perpetrators as soon as possible.
He went on to say, "The government shares the grief of the families whose loved ones have died or been injured."
